BIOGRAPHY

Themba Sibanda is a cash and livelihoods specialist with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC). He has more than 20 years of experience in emergency food security, livelihoods, and cash and markets programming. Themba has worked in a number of countries, including East Timor, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Georgia, Haiti, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Liberia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Somalia, South Sudan, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Before joining NRC, Themba worked for World Vision and the American Red Cross. Since 2012, Themba has been working with NRC in different capacities including livelihoods and food security program development manager/specialist, area manager, roving cash & markets advisor, emergency response manager, and Durable Solutions Consortium manager.

Themba holds a BSc in agriculture with honors in crop science, a BA in development studies, and an MBA.
