Suresh Babu is a Senior Research Fellow and Head of Capacity Strengthening at the International Food Policy Research Institute, Washington, DC. He is currently leading the USAID’s Comprehensive Action for Climate Change Initiative in Asia.
For the past 30 years, Suresh has been working on developing the human and institutional capacities of the national systems for policy analysis, emergency and development program interventions, early warning systems, and monitoring evaluation for moving from emergency relief to recovery and resilience and to long term development.
He supports IFPRI’s regional and country programs in their efforts to strengthening local policy systems and policy processes for developing national resilience and development strategies in more than 15 countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
Prior to IFPRI, Suresh was a Research Economist at the Cornell University Food and Nutrition Policy Program (CFNPP). He hold a M.S. and a Ph.D. from the Iowa State University.
